Abstract

This study was designed to investigate the antimicrobial effect of NaF, 2,2-bipyridine, and lactoferrin against Streptococcus mutans, Lactobacillus acidophillus, and Actinomyces naesludii by the CFU and growth inhibition zone measurement when
these
species were cultured at the concentration of 1, 0.1 and 0.01mg/ml in the agents.
@ES The obtained results were as follows;
@EN 1. In the streptococcus mutans(KCTC 3065, serotype c), the inhibitory effects of NaF and 2,2-bipyridine were significantly higher than that of lactoferrin at the concentration of 0.1mg/ml(P<0.01) and the growth inhibition zone of
2,2-bipyridine
was
significantly higher than that of NaF and lactoferrin in the same concentration(P<0.01)
2. In the Laotobacillus acidophillus(KCTC 3111), the inhibitory effect of 2,2-bipyridine was significantly higher than that of NaF and lactoferrin atn the concentration of 0.1mg/ml (P<0.01).
3. In the Actinomyces naesludii(KCTC 9013), the inhibitory effects of 2,2-bipyridine was significantly higher than that of NaF and lactoferrin at the concentration of 0.1mg/ml(P<0.01)
